This could include powdered wigs, swords, shoes, and other period style articles. You can really get into the spirit of the themed party if you choose your costume at a costume shop.

If you are invited to a black tie affair but it is set in the mid twentieth century, think about looking at antique clothing stores. They very often have tremendous selections in many different time periods. You and your friends can spend a great day searching for the perfect ensemble.
