How to Do a "Deal or No Deal" Game Show Party

A party which has a theme that is patterned after a game show will make the birthday of your kid truly special. Fortunately for parents who are organizing the event, it is really not that difficult to plan and host a game show party. You only have to prepare for it way in advance so that you can coordinate every detail for the game show party theme.

One of the most common themes used for this kind of kiddie event is the "Deal or No Deal" game show party. The important thing in this game show party is to prepare different prizes for the kids and make sure that everybody participates.

Why "Deal or No Deal"?

The good thing about using the "Deal or No Deal" theme is that the popularity of the show will allow the kids to relate to the theme because they surely would have watched the show that the game is patterned after.

Even the parents who are not participating in the games will be able to cheer their kids on – so the whole crowd would surely be into the game and the party would have a sense of unity. You would not find other kids and other guests lounging around or doing their own thing.

Things to Prepare for the Game Show Party

Prepare several cardboards to represent the briefcases for this game show party. Perhaps between 8 and 12 would be a good number. Use erasable markers so you can change the numbers later as the players change. This way, they will not know what prize is contained in each number.

Alternatively, you could also use silver-colored boxes to make them look more like a briefcase. Again, it's important to replace the numbers later on as another kid tries his or her luck.

Of course, to make this game show party a success you would need to have as many prizes prepared for all the kids. You could have real toys or pack some treats of the children like chocolate coins or candies wrapped in $10 bill toy paper money.

Since the cake is usually one of the highlights of the party, you can order a cake with a dollar bill design. This would surely add to the mood of your kid's game show party.

If you want, you could even decorate your room to recreate your own Deal or No Deal stage. You could have a backdrop and arrange the chairs in a similar way, too.

Tips on Making This Game Show Party

Give each child a chance to participate in the game. Explain to everyone how it is played again. However, reassure them that each child will go home with a prize. Tell them what the grand prize is to get everyone excited.

Let the first player choose a briefcase or a number. Then, start by making him open various numbers. Stop the proceeding after every two or three numbers by making the kid an offer. If he says “No Deal,” continue the game by making him open some more numbers.

Make him some more offers. If he says, "Deal," then he gets the prize you offered. You would then have to reveal to him what he would have gotten had he chosen to go on. Of course, if he does not make a deal and choose to stick to his chosen number or briefcase, he will get whatever prize corresponds to it.

The key to this game show party is to make each of the kids happy so choose prizes that everyone will love. If everyone enjoyed the party and they go home happy with their prizes, the birthday game show party of your kid is truly a success.
