Game Show Parties with Cash Cab

Are you fond of game shows? Many of us are, and it creates the perfect opportunity to throw some wonderful game show parties. Thinking of your favourite game show, could you design game show parties around it? We have the perfect idea for your next party. It is designed from the Cash Cab game show which aired in 2005.

The premise was that contestants actually took a cab ride and answered questions to win money. They had a destination which they could not change. Once they started on their journey they had to correctly answer the cab driver's questions. If they did, they won cash that allowed them to reach their final stop. However, if they incorrectly answered three questions they had to remove themselves from the cab.

While our game show parties using the Cash Cab theme won't actually be travelling in a cab, we have created a version that is interesting and fun. When putting together the Cash Cab party you need to get your supplies together. Half the fun of game show parties is in the preparation.

Your game show party will not be giving out cash, but your guests will be treated to a meal. If you have two other couples that want to participate in throwing the game show parties with you, it will be twice as much fun. You will have three destinations if you do it this way. Otherwise everyone will end up back at your home. Think of a menu that represents what a cab driver might eat or plan to have your favourite dishes. Decorate your home to look like the cab dispatch area. A fake command centre with cafeteria style seating for your guests should do nicely.

You will need to find cardboard or use a sturdy poster board to make your Cash Cab cut outs. Oftentimes you can get empty cardboard boxes from merchants if you just ask. Tell them about your game show parties' idea and they'll be eager to help. Purchase some quality paper stock for your invitations. Pens, scissors, a crafter's set of knives, some paint and your creativity will also be needed. A book from the library can provide information that you can use for your questions. Once you have assembled these basics, you are ready to begin.

These game show parties work best if you have about five couples including yourselves. Design your invitations to look like a cab and fill in all the pertinent details. Make sure your guests know they will be doing some walking in your neighbourhood so that they dress comfortably.

Each couple will have their own “cab”. You will have put up taxi stops at different areas. Once they have answered the question at each stop they can continue on to the next. Provide about five stops. If they miss a question, don't penalise them. This game show parties' idea is meant to be fun. After you have enjoyed the fresh air and learned some interesting new facts direct the Cash Cab back to your house. Watch out that there are no accidents as everyone will have worked up an appetite with this entertaining game show parties' idea.
