Wine enthusiast, gourmet and purveyor of all things fine, Charles is one of our resident wine show hosts as well as being an innovative business trainer, primarily to the licensed and restaurant trade, with a wealth of experience in operations and sales management.
Charles began his career with Bass, working in free trade sales, then pub and restaurant operations before taking charge of the Company’s training school and heading up a customer service programme for the entire business.
Following a spell with Youngs in their hotel and catering division, Charles then spent ten years pioneering city and town centre style bars, including brands such as Slug & Lettuce, before becoming a self employed consultant and entertainer with wine.
At Play
Bringing ‘work’ home with him, Charles never says no to a fine glass of New Zealand Sauvignon in the garden. He has three children still at school to keep him busy at home, but still finds time for the occasional game of golf, tennis or hockey to keep the pounds off!
